About the Award

The Good Health through Transportation Award was given to those who promote or encompass the health of individuals and communities, such as active transportation improvements, improving environmental conditions (i.e. air quality and water quality), or other elements contributing to greater public health through transportation solutions.

An independent panel judged award nominations based on the following criteria:

  • Positive impact to public health through individual or team efforts or through a project related to transportation – 90%
  • Quality of the write-up of the award submission – 10%

About the Award

The Keeping Utah Moving through Better Mobility award was given to those who embraced the vision of promoting mobility for users and modes of transportation by addressing issues such as large traffic events, natural disaster responses, innovative mobility methods, or assets designed with improved mobility as a principal goal.

An independent panel judged award nominations based on the following criteria:

  • Positive impact to transportation mobility through individual or team efforts or through a project related to transportation – 90%
  • Quality of the write-up of the award submission – 10%

Winner:

Project: Ogden Bus Rapid Transit

Utah Transit Authority, Jacobs, AECOM, Stacy and Witbeck, The Langdon Group, and Ogden City

About the Award

The Strengthening the Economy through Transportation Award was given to those who promoted utilizing transportation as a way to support Utah’s growing economy through methods such as improving access to goods and services, enacting transportation-related policy that invigorates economic activity, enhancing economic vibrancy of neighborhoods or communities, or other efforts that promote economic activity through transportation solutions.


An independent panel judged award nominations based on the following criteria:

  • Positive impact to strengthening the economy through individual or team efforts or through a project related to transportation – 90%
  • Quality of the write-up of the award submission – 10%

Winners:

About the Award

The Connecting Communities through Transportation Award was given to those who promoted improving transportation access across Utah communities and neighborhoods by enacting transportation-related policy, enhancing relationships and collaboration among communities through transportation, or utilizing other tools/methods to advance transportation solutions that better connect communities across the state. 

An independent panel judged award nominations based on the following criteria:

  • Positive impact to connecting communities through individual or team efforts or through a project related to transportation – 90%
  • Quality of the write-up of the award submission – 10%

Winners:

About the Award

The Utah Transportation Safety Award was given to those who exemplified safety within the context of transportation design, construction, maintenance, or operations. The following are examples of reasons to nominate an individual or team for this award: 

  • Increases safety awareness among colleagues and partners
  • Directly influenced the safe completion of a job/project
  • Increases employee/work crew knowledge of safety
  • Contributes to safety in the work area
  • Enhances the safety of others 
  • Demonstrates safety leadership 
  • Individual or team effort prevented a potential serious incident or injury
  • Safety efforts led to a safe and successful completion of a transportation project

     

An independent panel judged award nominations based on the following criteria:

  • Increases safety awareness among colleagues and partners or prevented a potential serious incident or injury – 60%
  • Safety efforts led to a safe and successful completion of a transportation project – 30% 
  • Quality of the write-up of the award submission – 10%
